From 13 February 2017 to 17 February 2017, the representative of the Investment Manager of the Innovations and Technologies Fund participated in the EmTech Asia 2017 event, organized by MIT Review in Singapore. This is an event where investors and multinational companies are introduced to new future generation technologies. Meetings of the FIT representative led to the establishment of pilot cooperation between the portfolio companies of the Innovations and Technologies Fund and Tata Communications and Airbus Innovations.
An all-day conference primarily focused on investors was held in Vienna. It was attended by 277 participants from 26 countries (half of the participants from the DACH region, a quarter from the Central European region and the rest primarily from Western European countries). Most of the participants were directly the main partners of the VC funds. The main topics were: investing in selected regions of Europe, the latest trends and innovative areas for investment, life sciences, exits, corporate investments in startups, etc.
The aim of the conference held in Budapest was to present the investment criteria and at the same time the overall investment process of venture capital investors from Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The main organizer was the Hungarian Venture Capital Association and hence the event was beneficial for networking with participating Hungarian investors. Slovakia was represented at the conference by Radoslav Vašina as an investment manager representing the Innovations and Technologies Fund.
